Founder & Principal
Marc J. Hawk III is a strategist, legal professional, political scientist, and interdisciplinary advisor working at the intersection of law, public affairs, politics, communications, culture, and influence.
As the founder of Verge, Marc brings a multidisciplinary perspective to people and organizations navigating consequential moments—whether that means entering a new arena, managing visibility, building a public profile, responding to scrutiny, or positioning for what comes next.
His work is grounded in a simple belief: visibility without strategy is exposure.
Marc has built his career across government, political campaigns, legal education, public-interest advocacy, and institutional leadership. His experience includes work in the U.S. House of Representatives, national political campaigns, the U.S. Capitol Police Office of General Counsel, and legal clinics focused on criminal defense, racial justice, and public-interest advocacy.
He currently pursuing his J.D. His legal education builds upon an M.P.A. in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University and a B.A. in Political Science: Pre-Law from Oakwood University.
Beyond his professional practice, Marc has developed a national leadership profile through his work with the American Bar Association and other legal and civic organizations, where he has worked on issues involving access to justice, racial equity, public service, and institutional leadership.
That range is intentional.
Marc understands that the most consequential challenges rarely fit neatly into one category. A reputation issue can become a big issue. A career opportunity can become a public affairs issue. A moment of visibility can define an entire brand.
That is where Verge operates.
Behind the scenes, Marc helps clients see the larger picture, understand the moment they are in, and make the moves that position them for where they are going.
The perspective behind Verge
Politics & Public Affairs.

An understanding of positioning, message, reputation, and the difference between being seen and being understood.
Culture.
An understanding of influence, identity, talent, and the forces shaping how people and brands are perceived.
Strategy.
The discipline to bring it all together, and determine what comes next.
Why Verge
I did not build Verge to be the loudest voice in the room.
I built it to be the person in the room before the moment happens.
The advisor thinking through the second-order consequences.
The strategist seeing the opportunity inside the uncertainty.
The person asking what happens after the announcement, after the headline, after the introduction, after the breakthrough.Because the most important work is often the work no one sees.
